Thanks for this. I interviewed Renee Fleming about her participation in the production yesterday, which was fascinating. It should be online in the next couple of days.

Fleming bow mid-act
I am a new opera (and Renee Fleming) fan via the cinema showings of Evgeny Onegin and La traviata. Please tell me why, and how unusual it is, for the lead to come out of character and take a bow mid-act as Renee Fleming did in La traviata. All the other times I've seen the characters freeze in position to accept applause. Thanks.
