Sir John Eliot Gardiner's new Brahms CD on Soli Deo Gloria
A reminder that there are ten days to go on the Gardiner competition.

I've received a review copy of the CD now and can honestly say that the quality is exceptionally high. It's easily on a par with the Bach series and should be a good incentive to attend this autumn's installments in the Brahms and his Antecedents series.

Haven't heard the disc itself but heard them play it in concert at the RFH and loved it. Should also say we're working at getting several more competitions on the go, so watch this space...

Yes, indeed. It's an excellent CD and my review is on the website now.
Amongst future competitions are a new Strauss CD and a recital disc by a leading Canadian baritone. ;-)
