Tickets for Opera/Musicals
This doesn't really have much potential for development, in fact it's more like a letter to a free newspaper, but I'm sick of trying to get tickets to opera/musicals/theatre in London only to find, at best, that a mere handful are left, and they in the upper circles. Or worst, tickets costing in the hundreds of pounds left for the ROH. What a world! I defy the credit crunch to make my theatre going life a bit less troublesome.

Well if you booked in advance you'd get tickets in the places you wanted...
Not all the tickets at the ROH cost hundreds of pounds - you just have to make sure you book in time.
And lyric theatre is an expensive business - how can it be free? Football matches, holidays, going to the movies and shopping for clothes are also expensive pasttimes!

Yeah that's my point you have to book weeks in advance. That's fine sometimes, but the majority of the time it's a case of realising you've an evening free and wanting to do something with it. And I never mentioned anything being free, just a bit cheaper. And I don't think going to a play can be compared to going on a holiday.

If they weren't booked up weeks in advance, they would lose money and close ;-)
It costs a lot because it costs a lot to put on and the number of people who can see it is limited...
And I disagree - I think going to a play is perfectly equivalent to going on holiday!

Yes yes fair enough they do cost a lot to put on.......I still think I'd rather win a free holiday than a ticket to a play, no?
