Digital Composer-In-Residence Competition Update - London Sinfonietta
Hey guys,
I just wanted to let you all know that Dilettante Music, an online classical music hub, is holding a competition to find a Digital Composer-In-Residence. The winning composition will receive a £1000 (c.$1600) prize and the opportunity to become our digital composer-in-residence for a year. All our entries will be judged by an expert panel of music industry professionals and they will choose three finalists whose pieces will be played at the live final. The final will be held on the 5th November 2009 at the historic Wilton's Music Hall in London, England.
We have just received some very exciting news that hopefully will persuade some of you who are still undecided whether to enter the competition. We can now confirm that the London Sinfonietta will be recording the finalists' pieces as well as performing them at the live final. For those of you who do not know who the London Sinfonietta are, they are the world's leading contemporary orchestra. This is a great opportunity to have your piece of music recorded and performed by them as well as winning our year long residency.
Entries must be submitted by the 1st September 2009. They must be a maximum of 8 minutes in length and not exceed 8 instruments. A list of the accepted instruments are on our competition page below as well as further details of the competition and application process:

Please note that there is no application fee for entering the competition. This is a great opportunity for all composers throughout the world and we look forward to hearing your compositions.
I just wanted to remind you that the submission deadline is only 2 weeks away.
Matt
